01 · What these terms cover
These terms apply to the Tafseer e Namoona website at www.tafseerenamoona.net, to the Android app (com.mubashirzaidi12.tafseerenamoona), and to the iOS app (com.tafseerenamoona.tafseer). By reading here, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site or the apps.
Everything here is offered free of charge, for personal reading and study. There is no subscription, no paid tier, no in-app purchase, and no advertising.
02 · The text and its sources
- The Arabic Quran text is taken from the Tanzil Project (version 1.1, tanzil.net) and is used under the terms of that project. It must not be altered.
- The Urdu and English translations are the work of their named translators, credited beside each verse in the reader.
- The commentary is Tafseer e Namoona, prepared under the supervision of Ayatollah Nāṣir Makārim Shīrāzī with a team of scholars, and presented here in translation with the permission of the author’s office.
03 · Accuracy, and its limits
This edition is prepared carefully, but it is a human undertaking and errors are possible in transcription, translation, and formatting. The English tafseer in particular is AI-assisted and should be read with that in mind.
Nothing here is a religious ruling, a fatwa, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified scholar. If you find a mistake, please report it through the contact form — corrections are welcome and are acted upon.
04 · How you may use it
You are welcome to read, study, teach from, and quote this material for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes, with attribution to Tafseer e Namoona and to the translator or source concerned.
Please do not:
- Harvest the text in bulk by automated means, or place unreasonable load on the service.
- Republish the translations or the commentary commercially, or present them as your own work.
- Alter the Quranic text, or edit a translation or a passage of commentary in a way that misrepresents its meaning or its author.
- Attempt to breach, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to any part of the service.
05 · Rights in the material
Rights in Tafseer e Namoona and in the translations remain with their authors, translators, and publishers. This website and these apps publish the commentary with the permission of the office of Ayatollah Nāṣir Makārim Shīrāzī; that permission covers this edition and does not pass to anyone who copies material from it. The Quran text is used under the Tanzil Project’s terms. The design, code, and arrangement of this website and the apps belong to the Tafseer e Namoona project. Nothing here transfers ownership of any of it to the reader.
06 · What you send us
When you send feedback, a correction, or a question, you allow us to use it to improve the text and the service. Please do not send confidential information, and do not send anything unlawful or offensive. Corrections may be incorporated into the edition without any obligation on our part — though we are grateful for every one of them. How your message is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
07 · Availability and warranties
The website and the apps are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. Features may change, and the service may be interrupted or withdrawn for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every detail is free of error.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site or the apps. Where a provision of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
08 · Other services we link to
The site and the apps link to services we do not control — SoundCloud for audio, the Apple App Store and Google Play for downloads, and the Tanzil Project for the Quran text. Their own terms and privacy policies apply once you follow such a link.
09 · Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised from time to time; the current version always sits on this page with its effective date. Continuing to use the website or the apps after a revision means you accept the revised terms.
Questions about these terms are welcome at tafseer.namoona@gmail.com, through the contact form on the About page, or from Contact Us inside the app.
